The story

Leaving Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park, I almost kept walking—tired, heading back, thinking the show was over. But the sky had other plans. An incredible sunset was unfolding while the moon rose at the same time, warm color fading behind the peaks as cool silver climbed into the blue. Moments like that are quiet reminders that beauty is everywhere—so often we just have to slow down long enough to notice it. I looked up, framed the scene, and pressed the shutter. And just like that, it was gone—the light shifting minute by minute until the lake returned to stillness and the night took over.
