The story

It was the break of fall, and the aspens had already begun to show why they’re one of the most revered elements in nature. The clouds were slowly breaking over the Bells when chance poked its head into my frame. Just as I was shooting that gloomy backdrop in the clouds, an eagle swept into view. The moment was once in a lifetime. I don’t think I’ll ever catch another shot like this. Even without the eagle, the raw natural beauty of the Bells—and Aspen itself—will always hold a special meaning to me. It marked the end of a trip, but the beginning of a new adventure.
